In mid-July we took a lightening hit that pretty much wiped-out our electronics throughout the house. One of the computers that got fried was my trusty Austin P-75, which was 12 years old. I had installed LINUX on it, and was planning to experiment with LINUX.
I took the computer apart, the following parts are available (free) to anyone that wants them. However, it is unknown if any of the parts are still in working condition as a result of the lightening strike. These parts may be useful if you have an old computer system or otherwise need parts. I might as well see if anyone wants them before going to the dump.
1. Intel Pentium 1 motherboard with 128Mbytes of EDO memory.
2. Creative sound card (EISA)
3. MSI CD-ROM 52Max
4. 3.25" "A" Drive
5. Netgear32 bit PCI Ethernet Adapter (10/100) <==This card was just bought and in the computer.
6. SOHO PCI Ethernet Adapter <===This card was NOT in the computer, I had replaced it with the Netgear ethernet card since the SOHO seemed to be flaky.
7. ATI Xpert98 PCI video card
8. Prior ATI video card (unknown model) <==Was not in the computer since the Xpert98 was in the computer.
9. Unknown modem. <== Was not in the computer, I took it out of another computer since we haven't been using the modem at all.
If you you of anyone who would be interested, forward this email to them. Remember, the parts that were in the computer may or may not work. Those that were not should work, but the are old technology. If no one responds, to the dump it goes.
